Gary Neville has been big in his praise of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, who scored twice as the Gunners beat Liverpool yesterday evening.

Saka has come roaring back from his Euro 2020 disappointment to be one of Arsenal’s key men and he clearly loves the pressure, stepping up to the plate to take big penalties like he did yesterday.

And Neville, speaking on his weekly post-game Podcast on YouTube, believes Saka is everything you want to see from a young player.

“He is a big talent. Tough kid. When you watch him he looks like he wants the ball all the time. He’s enthusiastic, he brings life to the crowd, sparks the crowd, everything that you’d want in a young wide player. He works back, he’s tenacious, he’s a really good player, a really really fantastic player” Neville said.

“The second half he comes on stronger. The penalty was a big moment, we could feel it. Liverpool’s players obviously delaying it as much as they could. Alisson’s a huge presence. I watched the penalty from the tv shots and you see the size of Alisson. He dove the right way and still didn’t save it, so well done to Saka.”

TBR’s View: Saka Can Be Arsenal’s Main Man For Years

There is no doubt that this is a top, top young player Arsenal have got here. Saka wasn’t even in the game for periods against Liverpool but he showed his quality with two big moments.

For Arsenal, it’s huge news that they have these young players in their squad who are consistently doing the business.

Mikel Arteta can’t be anything but delighted and if Saka continues on his current trajectory, then Arsenal have a player on their hands who will be their star for the next decade, never mind just this season.
