Gary Neville told Sky Sports after Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur that any manager in the world would love to have Roberto Firmino in their side, insisting that he is absolutely incredible.
Jurgen Klopp’s men now have their 20th Premier League win of the season after winning at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And it was Firmino who settled the game with a fantastic piece of play inside the Spurs box eight minutes before the break. He produced a brilliant touch to create space and then slammed the ball home past Paulo Gazzaniga.
It was another excellent performance from the Brazilian, who, admittedly, should have scored during the second-half. And Neville insisted that he is one player who could probably get into any team anywhere in the world right now.

“I think any manager in the world would have him as the centre-forward in their team,” he told Sky Sports. “I think he’s absolutely incredible. Selfless, brilliant, scores goals, sets things up. They can link off him, makes all the right runs. An outstanding player.”
Firmino has a remarkable record since moving to Anfield. He has reached double figures for Premier League goals in every full season he has spent with the Reds.
And he is well on his way to keeping that run going with seven league strikes this time around.
But his game is about so much more than the goals he scores. Like a number of players in Klopp’s squad, he seems to be an absolutely vital cog in the machine that just continues to churn out victories.
It is arguably difficult to pick out Liverpool’s most inspired piece of business over the last decade. But you could absolutely understand if some fans felt that the deal to bring Firmino to Merseyside was better than any other.
