Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has insisted that Jose Mourinho could well be the one to lead Tottenham to Premier League glory this term.

Neville, speaking on his Gary Neville Podcast this week, was asked about whether Tottenham can sustain their title challenge after Jamie Carragher spoke of the size of the story it would be if Mourinho did lead Spurs to glory.

The north London outfit have been trophyless for a number of years now, while the closest they’ve come to winning the PL was the year Leicester City won it back in 2015/16.

But Neville has agreed with his studio mate Carragher, insisting Spurs do have enough in the locker.

“I said a couple weeks ago on Monday Night Football that Spurs couldn’t win the league, and I still don’t think they can.

“But I do agree with Jamie Carragher that it would be the most outstanding story to see Jose Mourinho win the Premier League with Tottenham. It would be one of the great stories, because Tottenham don’t win leagues. They’ve got the forward players to do it. You think of the strike force and the goal – it’s incredible.”

Neville was referring to the driving force of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son in terms of those attacking players, while the likes of Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura, and Steven Bergwijn are all part of the options Mourinho has.

Might never be a better chance – TBR View

This is a strange season as it is so there might never be a chance for someone to creep up and snatch Premier League glory.

Spurs are playing some good football and, crucially, winning ugly, just as they did at the weekend.

Mourinho, too, is a serial winner. If ever there is a manager who can deliver the big trophy to Spurs, then the Portuguese coach is the man for the job.
