Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have shared their predictions for when Tottenham Hotspur host Everton in North London this weekend.
Tottenham appear to have turned a corner in the last couple of games. Their performances were still fairly good during their run of four defeats in five. But Ange Postecoglou‘s side have now won their last two.
Having said that, they are facing an Everton side who have picked up more points than anyone over the last four games.
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher back Tottenham to beat Everton
It says everything about how good Sean Dyche‘s men have been this season that we are only 17 games in, they have been hit with a 10-point deduction, and yet, they still find themselves outside of the relegation zone. In fact, they are currently nine points clear of the bottom three.

So Tottenham will definitely not be taking them lightly. And while both Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher backed Spurs to win on Stick to Football, Neville clearly thinks the Toffees could get something from the game.
“Difficult that one, I’m on the fence with it,” Neville said
“I think Spurs will win,” Carragher replied
“2-1 Spurs. Set piece, Everton might score a set piece,” Neville added.
Two very different transfer windows may lie ahead
With Arsenal and Liverpool playing each other this weekend, and Manchester City away on Club World Cup duty, there is an opportunity for Tottenham to close the gap on the teams above them.
Spurs face Brighton, Bournemouth and Burnley after taking on the Toffees. So Postecoglou’s men will feel that this could be a fruitful period of the campaign.
And once that run is over, the January transfer window will be open and Spurs can look to make the additions they desperately need.
Tottenham are prioritising a centre-back. But there are a few areas which potentially require attention, including in the middle of the park with both Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr soon off on international duty.
Everton meanwhile, can probably be a bit more relaxed in January. They appear to be on the right path under Dyche so there is absolutely no need for panic-buying as things stand.
