Gary Neville has told Sky Sports (broadcast on 3/1; 21:33) that Dan Burn was brilliant for Newcastle United against Arsenal after a difficult start for the defender at the Emirates.
Eddie Howe’s men played out their second goalless draw in as many games. However, they were clearly much happier with their point away at the Premier League leaders than they were after the full-time whistle against Leeds at the weekend.

Newcastle produced a colossal defensive display to keep the Gunners at bay. They limited the number of chances Mikel Arteta’s men had. And they really frustrated Arsenal.
Neville lauds Dan Burn after Newcastle draw
The second-half saw Newcastle largely keep the home side where they wanted them – when you consider that they were always going to give away opportunities. And Burn was one of those who really stood out.

The 30-year-old seemed to be everywhere, particularly at set-pieces. No player on either side made more clearances than the former Brighton man, according to Whoscored.
It had been a difficult start to the game for Burn. He was up against Bukayo Saka. And he also had to deal with Ben White absolutely flying up the line, particularly in the first-half.
Burn grew into the game. And after one late moment where he forced Saka to run the ball out of play for a goal kick, Neville suggested that he was really impressed.
“Dan Burn punches the air, and gets a little high five off his teammate, recognising that he’s done a brilliant job after that difficult first five minutes,” he told Sky Sports.
Burn, like several others, has been an unbelievable signing for Newcastle. In fact, they have got so little wrong in the market under the new owners. And he only cost £13 million.
He has been one of the best performing left-backs in the league. And Newcastle have shown that they have a real chance of finishing in the top-four.
