Gary Lineker believes Kobbie Mainoo’s performances for Manchester United this season have been ‘quite remarkable’.
Kobbie Mainoo has impressed since breaking into Erik ten Hag’s side back in November.
The 18-year-old has started in every single Premier League game for Manchester United since the 2-2 draw at Anfield.
Mainoo’s displays have even led to Alan Shearer suggesting he could be in line to make the England squad for this summer’s Euros.
Now, Gary Lineker is the latest to champion Mainoo’s cause for a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Lineker on ‘remarkable’ Mainoo
Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Lineker was asked which players could receive their first call-up to the England squad for the Euros.
Jarrad Branthwaite and Cole Palmer were put forward as options by Lineker and he also believes Mainoo could be in with a shout.
“I will go with Kobbie Mainoo as the other one because he has impressed me so much,” the Premier League legend said.
“He’s so young, I think he’s just 18, so to do what he’s doing is quite remarkable at a club like Manchester United. I think he might sneak in.”

In what has been a difficult season for United so far, Mainoo has been a shining light in midfield.
Having come through the academy set-up at Carrington, the midfielder has adjusted to senior football with ease.
So far, Mainoo has displayed intelligence and quality on the ball of a player well beyond his years.
With players like Kalvin Phillips struggling this term, the United youngster arguably deserves a call-up based on current form.
Whether that will be the case remains to be seen, with Southgate known to stick by some of his trusted players through difficult spells of form.
United have a real star on their hands here and despite an underwhelming campaign so far, they have some talented young players and Mainoo certainly falls into that category.
