Arsenal attacker Bukayo Saka has been praised by Gary Lineker following his latest heroics for Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a superb rise to the top of the game over the past two years or so, going from a promising Hale End talent to one of the first names on Arteta’s team sheet.
Saka made his Arsenal breakthrough in 2019-20, clocking up 39 appearances in all competitions and weighing in with four goals and 11 assists.

This season, meanwhile, he has registered 29 appearances across all competitions, scoring six and assisting five.
Saka’s latest goal came in Thursday night’s Europa League last-32 first leg against Benfica at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, restoring parity after Pizzi opened the scoring from the penalty spot.
OptaJoe shared a statistic – since the start of last season, Saka is the youngest Premier League player to have reached double figures for goals (10) and assists (16) across all competitions.
And Lineker responded to their Twitter post with praise for the Gunners gem:
Fans, pundits and peers are running out of superlatives for Saka, a player of the highest calibre who, let’s not forget, is still just 19 and is capable of so much more as he continues to progress, develop and gain more experience.
