BBC pundit Gary Lineker has labelled Alisson Becker’s pass to Luis Diaz in the first half of Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Manchester United as ‘filth’.

Jurgen Klopp’s side blew away Manchester United and if this was a boxing match, the referee would have stopped the fight in the early rounds.

Ralf Rangnick’s side couldn’t contain or compete with their fierce rivals. The gulf of class between the two footballing powerhouses was evident before last night’s clash.

But the nature and ease in which Liverpool strolled epitomised the ever growing gap between the two sides.

Liverpool’s Brazilian goalkeeper alongside Thiago was probably the calmest man on the pitch, he was throwing out Cruyff turns which deceived Bruno Fernandes and he was coolness personified every time he had the ball at his feet.

It says a lot about Manchester United’s performance that the former Roma stopper completed more passes (51) than the Red Devils’ entre central midfield (50).

Lineker had already claimed 35 minutes into last night’s game that Liverpool’s number one had been better than any Manchester United player.

Alisson’s qualities with the ball at his feet also astounded United legend Gary Neville who was commentating on the game live on Sky Sports.

The former right-back said: “Alisson just played a pass I couldn’t play in my entire career as an outfield player.”

There was also a moment in the first half where the 29-year-old turned defence into attack with one devastating pass.

Alisson’s pinpoint pass meant that Diaz didn’t have to move and put United straight back onto the back foot.

Clearly impressed with Alisson’s distribution, Lineker simply responded on Twitter with the word ‘filth’.

Alisson is probably in the form of his career right now as Liverpool continue their pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple.
