Ayoze Perez has completed a move that sees him swap Newcastle United for Leicester City for a fee believed to be in the region of £30million – and Gary Lineker has reacted to the move by teasing Alan Shearer on Twitter.
Perez, 25, starred for Newcastle last season, finishing as the club’s top scorer for 2018-19 with 13 goals from the right flank. He even eclipsed the goal rate of striker Salomon Rondon.
However, since the end of the campaign, Spaniard Perez has hinted that he is keen to leave Newcastle this summer with the club showing little ambition. The failure to keep Rafa Benitez is likely to have been the nail in the coffin.
Spanish star Perez has now completed a move to Leicester, despite being repeatedly linked with teams in Italy and Spain. Former Leicester star and BBC pundit Lineker reacted, by mocking Newcastle icon Shearer.

TBR’s view – Perez exit a huge blow for Newcastle
The majority of Newcastle fans would have said last season that Perez was their best player, and has been somewhat consistent for years at St. James’ Park. It is hardly surprising to see him go for £30million.
Though the attacker has brought in an enormous £28.5million profit, after joining Newcastle for just £1.5million in the summer of 2014. But his goals kept Newcastle afloat last season.
Replacing him will be difficult, and if Newcastle do not get it right, they could be pushed towards the drop.
