‘Great idea’: Gary Lineker jokes he wants Leicester to sign 'immense' Arsenal player now
Gary Lineker isn’t afraid to fire back when it comes to controversial journalist Piers Morgan, and the MOTD host has been at it again today.
Lineker and Morgan are often seen going back and forth on Twitter. Often, Lineker comes out on top, with Morgan often making some outlandish claims when it comes to football. And the pair have been at it again today, after Morgan tweeted his ideal front three for Arsenal, which included a certain Cristiano Ronaldo.
Of course, the eagle-eyed among us will have noticed that Morgan forgot to include a certain Bukayo Saka in his ideal strike force. And Lineker, sharp as ever on the old Twitter, fired back at Morgan to suggest his beloved Leicester will take Saka off Arsenal’s hands.
Saka, as we all know, has been in outstanding form all season long for Arsenal and been a key player. Labelled as ‘quite brilliant’ and an ‘immense talent’ just recently, Saka has certainly put the Euros heartache he faced to bed.
Of course, there’s little chance of Leicester actually getting Saka. However, it just shows that Morgan needs to be careful what he’s tweeting and asking for.
TBR’s View: Lineker One Of The Kings Of Twitter
He’s not everyone’s cup of tea with everything he says but Gary Lineker is good at putting people in their place with quick wit and humour. And that’s what he’s done here.
Morgan seems to have an obsession with Ronaldo so the odd thought of him being at Arsenal next year isn’t even worth entertaining for most football fans.
In terms of Saka, Arsenal have one of the best young players in the world on their books. He’ll keep getting better, and Arsenal need to worry more about keeping him above anything else.
