Gary Lineker has predicted that Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold will go on to follow Steven Gerrard in his footsteps, and captain the Reds and even England.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed another sensational year, making 38 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool. He has becoming renowned for his crossing ability, laying on 15 assists.
Two of those came in the 4-0 win over Barcelona, setting up Gini Wijnaldum for his first before his quick and clever thinking saw Liverpool score a fourth from a corner – finished superbly by Divock Origi.
Lineker reacted to a video posted by Liverpool on their official Twitter account, claiming that the Reds academy product will go on to captain both his club and country.

The way Alexander-Arnold has already established himself as one of the best right-backs in European football is proof that the youngster has an enormous future.
With 83 appearances under his belt for Liverpool already, Alexander-Arnold is one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp’s team sheet. Indeed, he is showing maturity well beyond his age.
He will surely become a Liverpool captain and is likely to skipper England, with Harry Kane five years his senior.
