Liverpool look likely to once again run away with the Premier League title, according to Gary Lineker.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds leapfrogged Tottenham to top spot in the table on Wednesday, going three points clear of the North Londoners.

On Saturday, the reigning champions threw down the gauntlet to the rest of the division with a superb 7-0 victory at Crystal Palace.

Liverpool were quick out of the starting blocks, taking the lead after just three minutes thanks to Takumi Minamino’s first Premier League goal.

The Japan international slotted home after great work from Sadio Mane, who in turn made it two on 35 minutes with a fine turn and finish on the edge of the box.

Roberto Firmino was the provider, and he too then went on to get on the scoresheet himself, finishing off a great counter-attack on the stroke of half time.

After the interval, Liverpool picked up from where they left off, Jordan Henderson curling into the top corner from 20 yards out in the 52nd minute.

The Reds then made it five on 69 minutes, Firmino getting his brace with a stunning left-footed chip following a great ball from Mohamed Salah.

The Egypt international rounded off the scoring with a late brace of his own, a top-corner header and a sensational curling strike.

Needless to say, Gary Lineker was blown away by Liverpool’s heroics on the day, and believes they could well win a second title in a row by a big margin given they’re on a “different tier” to the chasing pack.

The result means Liverpool sit top of the tree at Christmas for a third successive season, before returning to action on Sunday 27 December when they host West Brom at Anfield.
