Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has implied that Liverpool’s poor run of three defeats in four games has coincided with Jordan Henderson being ruled out through injury.
Liverpool were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge ending Jurgen Klopp’s chances of securing the treble this season.
Henderson has missed the last three matches with Liverpool losing two of them and Lineker thinks his injury could actually earn him the Player of the Season accolade.
Liverpool signed Henderson for £20 million in the summer of 2011 and he has proved a really decent acquisition for the club.
The midfielder has played 358 times for the Reds, scoring 28 goals and claiming 50 assists.
He is currently the club captain and the £140,000-a-week ace is on course to become the first Liverpool player to lift a Premier League title above his head.
Henderson has been sorely missed in Klopp’s engine room and the boss will want him back as soon as possible.

It is unsure at this stage when he will be back but his absence is clearly highlighting his importance to the way Liverpool play.
According to Who Scored, he has a pass success ratio of 84.1%, he averages over 60 passes per game and also completes four long balls in each game.
It’ll be interesting to see if Henderson does claim Player of the Year. With Liverpool on course for a first Premier League title, few could begrudge him such an accolade.
