Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 2-1 last night to close in on securing the Premier League title. Afterwards, Gary Lineker took to Twitter to rave about Citizens star Phil Foden.
The talented youngster fired in City’s first goal to cancel out John McGinn’s opener. Rodri’s goal just before half-time was enough to see City earn a vital three points.
Pep Guardiola’s team are now 11 points clear of Manchester United, although the Red Devils have played a game less than their city rivals.
After the game, Match of the Day host Lineker took to Twitter to rave about City’s hero of the hour and he thinks Foden is special.
My oh my, how good is @PhilFoden? Stunning footballer.

The sky really is the limit for the 20-year-old who is getting better with each passing game he plays.
Foden has now scored 14 goals and registered nine assists during his 43 appearances in all competitions.
He has also broken into the England reckoning, scoring twice during his six outings for the national team.
Foden is one of the world’s most talented prospects and he’s already taking the Premier League by storm.
Guardiola had his critics when he refused to loan him out to continue learning his trade. Clearly, the forward has benefitted from being kept at City to work alongside a world-class group of players every day.
Foden’s form of late bodes well for England ahead of the European Championships and he’ll surely be part of the squad.
The wonderkid shines on a weekly basis and he’ll be a stunning asset for Gareth Southgate as England try and win silverware for the first time since 1966.
Stunning is something of an understatement from Lineker. On his current trajectory, Foden could become one of the world’s best in no time at all.
