Tottenham cruised to another win against Fulham tonight and former striker Gary Lineker was watching on impressed once again.
Spurs had goals from James Maddison and Heung-Min Son to thank for the three points as they continued their march at the top of the table. Indeed, Spurs are now top of the table outright.
And commenting during the game, Spurs legend Lineker was left in awe of new signing Maddison’s performance.
Gary Lineker praises James Maddison in Spurs v Fulham
Taking to his social media account on X, Lineker had a quick bit of praise for Maddison and lauded him as a ‘beautiful footballer’.
Maddison got his first goal in front of the Tottenham fans with his fine finish and at the moment, he is looking like the best attacking midfielder in the league.
Maddison continues to shine
When you look now at Spurs paying around £40m for James Maddison, you have to say it’s looking like one of the biggest bargains in recent seasons.
Maddison has been nothing short of sensational and he has to be right in the thoughts of the England manager now to be a regular starter.
Spurs in general look the real deal. But Maddison is one of the driving forces behind them looking so impressive.

If he carries on as he is and somehow improves, then we might end up seeing one of the best seasons by an English midfielder for some time.
Maddison is flying. And for Spurs fans, long may it continue.
Right now, even the neutral fan will be loving what they are seeing from the Spurs number ten. His partnership and link with Son is turning into something special. And dare we say it, but Harry Kane who?
Maddison, then, has ensured Spurs fans have already long forgotten about their ex-talisman.
