Gary Lineker has message for Tottenham’s Harry Kane amid reports

Gary Lineker believes the decision for England captain Harry Kane to start against Denmark on Wednesday evening in the UEFA Nations League should be down to the player himself, amid reports of bickering between managers.

Kane, 27, missed the 3-0 win over Wales completely and was only a substitute against Belgium on Sunday evening. It is believed that Kane felt a twinge in his thigh last week, and was sent for a scan by the FA.

However, it is believed that Kane is struggling due to muscle fatigue rather than actually suffering an injury. The Guardian now claim that Kane is set to start for England against Denmark in a crucial Nations League clash.

He has already made eight appearances this season, in which he has had a hand in 15 goals – scoring eight and creating seven. That includes away trips to Bulgaria and Macedonia, during a Europa League qualifying campaign.

Kane will also have the Europa League group stage to contend with, though Spurs have completed the signing of Carlos Vinicius. Nevertheless, Spurs are concerned and Jose Mourinho has voiced his opinion to Southgate.

He has made it clear that he does not want Kane to start against Denmark, but it seems that Kane’s opinion is being left out. Lineker, a former Tottenham and England striker, urged the managers to let the striker decide.
