Gary Lineker was left blown away by Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold after his individual performance last night against Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool earned a vital three points in midweek with a dramatic 4-2 victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League fixture.

The Reds closed the gap to the top four positions above them, and they now know they’ll secure Champions League qualification if they win their final three games of the season.

Bruno Fernandes put Man Untied ahead early on in the rearranged fixture, but goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino (two) turned the game on its head to put the visitors 3-1 in front.

Marcus Rashford reduced the deficit midway through the second half to make it nervous, but Mohamed Salah wrapped up three points at the end with a breakaway goal.

Lineker singled out Alexander-Arnold for his latest display on Twitter. He stated his passing range is “off the chat”, as well as claiming he has to be in the England squad for this summer’s European Championships.

TBR’s View

If you’ve studied Alexander-Arnold closely this season, it’s clear that he was low on confidence putting in some inconsistent performances early on.

However, like many of his Liverpool teammates in recent times, he’s started to edge back to the level everyone knows he’s capable of.

The right-back was defensively switched on last night, plus he was so dangerous going forward with his trademark crossing.

There has been much debate about whether the 22-year-old will be selected by England boss Gareth Southgate this summer for the Euros, and now the squad has been stretched to 26 picks it seems likely he will be included.
