Aston Villa booked their place in the final of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City.
Egyptian winger Trezeguet sent Villa Park into pandemonium with a stoppage-time goal to sink Brendan Rodgers’ team.
Matt Targett had given the Villans an early lead in the tie with a sweet left-footed effort before Kelechi Iheanacho restored parity.
With the game heading for penalties, Trezeguet caught the Leicester defence napping, however, firing home from inside the penalty box.
Villa were second best for large parts and held a large debt to goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.
The stopper signed from Ingolstadt in the summer of 2018 (BBC) and at the start of this season found himself as the third choice.
Injuries to Jed Steer and Tom Heaton earned him a reprieve; whilst last night Pepe Reina missed out with a tight calf.
The £20,000-a-week goalkeeper produced several top-quality saves to deny Leicester, with three particularly impressive ones in the first half.
Match of the Day host and self-confessed Foxes fan was impressed. He took to Twitter to speak of how well the 29-year-old had performed.
Villa’s keeper Oerjan Nyland is playing infuriatingly well. 3 unbelievable saves. ?

Nyland’s performance has left Dean Smith with a dilemma.
Reina will be the first choice goalkeeper in the absence of Heaton but the Norwegian has firmly staked his claim for a place.
It would be desperately harsh to drop him from his starting eleven for the final and a decision will need to be made.
The trip to Wembley will be Villa’s second in as many seasons. At the end of the 2018/19 campaign, they faced Derby County in the Play-Off Final, running out 2-1 victors.
