'100%': Gary Lineker claims one Tottenham player will be fuming right now

England dominated against Iran today but there was no goal for captain Harry Kane, who had to make do with just a good solid performance.

Kane led the line well for England and had the nation’s hearts in their mouths when he went down with a bad looking foot injury. However, he recovered from that and played a big part in setting up Marcus Rashford to score with his first touches when coming on.

But speaking about Kane’s lack of a goal on the BBC after the game, former England striker Gary Lineker admitted that deep down, Kane will be gutted, as all strikers would be.

Pressed by Micah Richards on if Lineker himself would be annoyed if he hadn’t scored, the BBC anchor believes Kane will be frustrated.

“100%. So will Harry, he won’t say it, but he will be,” Lineker responded to Richards on the BBC.

Kane is close to breaking a number of records for England. He needs two to overtake Wayne Rooney in the overall charts while he can also surpass Lineker as well in World Cup goals.

With USA and Wales to come, Kane will be confident of getting there. And if England keep playing like they did today, then chances will come his way.

TBR’s View: Kane still played well despite no goals

Harry Kane is still England’s main man and the bit of play he produced to put Rashford in showed his quality.

Kane will get goals in this World Cup. And like Lineker says, he will be a tad annoyed he’s not got himself in on the act today.

However, he’s also a leader. And if England keep winning and scoring like they did today, he won’t care one jot if it ends up in the Three Lions bringing it home.
