Leeds United legend Gary Kelly has taken to Twitter to celebrate the Whites’ superb 5-0 win against Stoke on Thursday, a result which edges Marcelo Bielsa’s side ever closer to the Premier League.
The pressure was on Leeds prior to kickoff at Elland Road, with Brentford having won all five of their games since the Championship’s resumption, and had to bide their time before unlocking the Potters’ defence.
Leeds’ first goal came on the stroke of half time, Mateusz Klich netting from the spot, before the hosts added a second shortly after the restart, Helder Costa celebrating his permanent switch to Elland Road with a cool finish.

The floodgates then opened as Liam Cooper and Pablo Hernandez got on the scoresheet, while Patrick Bamford rounded off the scoring with an injury-time fifth to cap off a superb display for the fans watching at home.
Leeds now sit top of the Championship table again, on 81 points, while West Brom are second on 80 and Brentford are third on 75 with four games to go – while it’s not mission complete just yet, it’s looking very promising.
Kelly, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, took to Twitter with his first posts since February, thanking fans for their well wishes and also praising Leeds for their performance:
