BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has raved about Liverpool maestro Thiago Alcantara for his performance during Saturday’s win over Southampton, naming him in his Team of the Week.
The Spaniard scored his first Liverpool goal and showcased his talents to the club’s supporters who are yet to really see him produce his best at Anfield.
Liverpool are still in with an outside shout of securing a Champions League place, although they will need to win all of their remaining games and hope for a bit of luck.

Crooks was impressed with the midfielder at the weekend and chose him for a place in his Team of the Week on the BBC Sport website.
Speaking on his performance, he said: “This is the first time I’ve seen Thiago Alcantara really play well for Liverpool. I don’t think it’s been easy for the former Bayern Munich star to settle in at Anfield.
“The Spain international took his goal very well and played with an authority I haven’t seen before.”
Liverpool take on Manchester United tomorrow and they’ll know how imperative it is they claim all three points at Old Trafford.
TBR View: Next season crucial for Thiago
The 30-year-old hasn’t really scaled the heights this season at Anfield and as a result, next season looks like a big one for the two-time Champions League winner.

It’s been a strange season for Liverpool with injuries robbing them of a decent crack at retaining their Premier League title.
Thiago has struggled with a number of injury problems and with a chance to rest in the summer and a proper pre-season he could still get back up to his best form during 2021/22.
