Garth Crooks makes Mo Salah claim after Liverpool win

Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that Mohamed Salah is a delight to watch following Liverpool’s latest win, insisting that the Egyptian is on another level when he is in the mood.

The Reds remain in contention to finish in the top four in the Premier League. But that is only after Jurgen Klopp’s men produced an amazing comeback on Sunday.

Of course, Alisson was the man to score the winning goal at West Brom. But Salah was the one who scored the crucial equaliser with a superb finish from the edge of the box.

Salah has now scored six goals in his last nine appearances in all competitions. And he is now level with Harry Kane in the running for the Golden Boot.

And following his latest performance, Crooks suggested that Salah has proved him wrong in the last couple of games.

“Against West Brom on Sunday, they showed patience and class. Salah is a different player when he plays for the team and can be a delight to watch,” he told BBC Sport.

“However, I see a different player when I get the feeling he’s chasing the Golden Boot. His game becomes selfish in crucial parts of the pitch. Not so against United or West Brom. When he is in this mood, he is a different class.”

The door is wide open for Liverpool now. With Leicester and Chelsea playing each other, the Reds know that two wins will secure their spot in next season’s Champions League.

It is a remarkable comeback from Klopp’s side. There have been numerous times when they have been written off throughout the campaign.

And while many will, understandably, remember Alisson’s winner should Liverpool finish in the top four, it must not be forgotten that Salah’s latest strike was just as pivotal.
