It was quite the performance from Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale this weekend, as the stopper performed minor miracles at Leicester City.
The former Sheffield United has been a revelation since arriving at the club in a £30m move from Sheffield United in the summer. He has dislodged Bernd Leno as number one, and built an immediate rapport with supporters.
At the weekend, Ramsdale made a number of fine saves. But his crowning moment came from a James Maddison free-kick. The stopper clawed it out of the top corner, before scrambling across to make a sharp second save.

And according to BBC pundit Garth Crooks, Ramsdale is now good enough to play for England and challenge Jordan Pickford for the number one jersey.
“To get a hand to the ball in the first place took some doing. To keep the shot from entering the back of the net from an excellent James Maddison free-kick was world class,” Crooks said of Ramsdale.
“However it was Ramsdale’s immediate recovery and re-positioning to stop further shots going over the line that impressed me most. Ramsdale has been a big hit since his arrival at Arsenal. Is he good enough to play for England? I don’t see why not on this showing.”
Arsenal have improved massively ever since Ramsdale, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu joined the defensive line.
TBR’s View: Aaron Ramsdale for England? Probably not quite yet
And that’s not to say he isn’t good enough. It’s more to do with the fact that Jordan Pickford is the firm number one for the Three Lions.
However, if you’d have said a year or two ago that Ramsdale would be second in line for the England goalkeeper job, then most people would have laughed.
Arsenal will just be hoping Aaron Ramsdale keeps going. He’s been outstanding so far, and rightly earned his place in the team of the week this time out.
