Garth Crooks has raved about the ability of Tottenham star Heung-Min Son, who he’s named in his team of the year for 2020.
Son, who cost Spurs £22million (BBC) back in 2015, has had a superb calendar year by consistently performing at a high level.
The 28-year-old attacker showed some quality moments in the back end of last season, but it’s in this new campaign where he’s come to life and really started to thrive under manager Jose Mourinho.
He’s played 23 games across all competitions so far this season, scoring 14 goals and supplying seven assists in return.
BBC pundit Crooks has given a glowing verdict on the quality of left-winger Son, who is so effective drifting centrally from wide positions and linking up with forward teammate Harry Kane.
“Harry Kane may be the star of the show at Tottenham, but Son Heung-min makes my team of the year. This lad has been electric,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“His ability to run at defences, score spectacular goals and make things happen was the reason Spurs spent a brief time on top of the table. [He] has a very important role to play if Tottenham are to lift a trophy this season.”

TBR’s View:
The Son-Kane combination has to be the most feared partnership in the Premier League right now, as the duo appear to have taken their games to even greater levels.
Aged 28, Son is absolutely flying at the moment in what is likely the prime of his career and he brings so much attacking threat to Mourinho’s side with his pace on the counter-attack.
The South Korea international has improved his finishing this year to make him the all-round attacker and he’ll be desperate to win silverware in 2021.
