Garth Crooks was impressed with Thomas Partey as Arsenal beat Manchester United at the weekend, naming the midfielder in his BBC Sport Team of the Week.
The Ghanian maestro checked in at the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day and looks like becoming a decent signing for the Gunners.
Partey, 27, was a mainstay during his time with Atletico Madrid and Arsenal had been linked with him throughout the summer.

In landing their man they ended a long-standing wait to sign a midfield enforcer and already he looks like becoming a fan favourite.
Against United, no player on the pitch regained possession more than Partey, winning the ball back for the Gunners on 11 occasions (BBC).
Crooks was certainly impressed and named the midfielder in his Team of the Week.
He told BBC Sport: “That was some performance by Thomas Partey at Old Trafford. The Ghana international looked fit, strong and up for the battle – while his ability to intercept and break up the opposition’s play on Sunday was outstanding.
“Partey along with Mohamed Elneny, dominated Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay. I’ve not seen an Arsenal midfield duo dominate the centre of the park at Old Trafford so effectively since Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit. This is very worrying if you’re a Spurs fan.”

Partey’s arrival will certainly help Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta revive the fortunes of the Gunners.
It has been several years since the club competed in the Champions League and reaching the top four is the immediate priority.
Partey allows Arsenal to play in a number of different ways and along with Gabriel he already looks like becoming a truly remarkable signing for the Gunners.
