Gareth Southgate has praised Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s link-up play after England’s clash with Poland last night, in an interview with ITV.
Kane impresses
Kane scored a quite brilliant goal for England in their 1-1 draw with Poland to show his goalscoring prowess.
But Southgate was happy with the way that the Spurs front man linked the play up with his teammates too.
“The goal is phenomenal and I thought some of his link play earlier in the game was of a very high level,” he said.
“He’s up against a back five again, where defenders can come and make it difficult, but I thought him, Raheem and Jack were constantly fouled.”
Closing in
Kane is now edging ever closer to England’s all time goalscoring record.
His display for the Three Lions must be encouraging for Spurs too, as it suggests that he is starting to get back somewhere close to his best.

Kane missed much of pre-season with Tottenham, but is building up match sharpness now.
His time away with England is sure to have helped Kane to find a bit of rhythm, before his attention will return to club matters this weekend.
The Tottenham striker will surely start for Nuno’s side as they take on Crystal Palace on Saturday.
