England manager Gareth Southgate has given a glowing verdict on Tottenham centre-forward Harry Kane.

The 27-year-old was rested during England’s victory against Republic of Ireland on Thursday in a friendly match, but it’ll be no surprise to see him back in the XI for the two Nations League fixtures in the next couple of days.

Kane, who is the senior England captain, has 32 goals in 48 caps for the national team and has proven himself to be clinical on any stage.

The striker’s domestic form so far this season has seen him scored 13 goals in 14 Spurs games so far, plus his return of 10 assists has had people talking about him as a creator.

He’s continued to be a marksman in front of goal with a variety of different finishes, but at times he’s dropped into deeper pockets for Jose Mourinho’s side and showed what he can do as a playmaker.

Southgate has mentioned the spotlight that is currently on Kane’s creativity, but he’s stated that he’s always had that ability.

“I know there seems to be more emphasis and a spotlight on that part of his game now but he has definitely always had it,” Southgate said, as quoted by the Telegraph.

“He’s as good a provider, as good a passer as he is a finisher and he is an outstanding finisher.

TBR’s View:

There can be very few players in the world right now that are performing at the same level as Kane, who would surely win the PFA Player of the Year award if the Premier League season was to finish now.

With the Spurs striker spearheading the England attack, it gives Southgate’s team a chance to beat anyone on paper and they’ve got a huge opportunity on Sunday to try send out a message when they travel to Belgium on Sunday.
