Gareth Bale has ‘no interest’ in signing for Newcastle United this summer

Gareth Bale has no interest in signing for Newcastle United this summer, according to a report from the Daily Star, via AFP.

The Real Madrid star has been linked with a move to the northeast in recent weeks. The Tyneside club are keen on landing a huge signing if their takeover goes through, with Bale one of a number of names mentioned.

However, according to the Daily Star’s report, Bales has zero interest in joining Newcastle.

“If the takeover goes through and if Newcastle were interested, Bale is not interested in moving to Newcastle,” reports in Spain claim.

That news will be a bitter blow to Newcastle and their new prospective owners. The Saudi-led consortium taking control of the club will have seen Bale as a marquee signing.

However, it appears Bale is happy where is he. It’s little surprise, too, given Bale is on a reported £350,000 per week over in the Spanish capital.

The Welshman has been hugely successful in Madrid. Despite numerous reports of fallouts with managers and fans, Bale has won three Champions League titles, including scoring a stunning winner against Liverpool two seasons ago.

Newcastle will probably get a few big-name signings through the door but Bale seemed to always be a step too far for the club and its new owners.

The Welsh wizard is a global superstar. He is also on huge sums of money and comfortable at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Bale is more than happy to stay put in Madrid. His family are happy, he’s on a big contract, and he remains a key player for the most part.

Newcastle, then, will have to move on to different targets it seems.
