‘Game-changer’… Thomas Frank raves about Tottenham player who’s played just once this year

Tottenham Hotspur take on Brentford tomorrow, and Thomas Frank has been raving about James Maddison ahead of the game.

Spurs would love nothing more than to return to winning ways after crashing out of the FA Cup last time out. Maddison made his first and only appearance of 2024 in that game, and we’re sure he’ll play a bigger part for Tottenham against Brentford tomorrow.

Thomas Frank raves about Tottenham star James Maddison

Tottenham signed James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer.

The Englishman hit the ground running, didn’t he? He was absolutely unbelievable for Spurs in the first 10 games of the season and it all started against tomorrow’s opponents, Brentford.

Tottenham took on the Bees in the season opener back in August, and Maddison stole the show. He picked up two assists on his debut, and everyone knew he’d be a great fit for Ange Postecoglou‘s side that day.

Bretford boss Thomas Frank kept an eye on Maddison in the games following the 2-2 draw on the opening day, and it’s safe to say he has been impressed.

The Dane called the Tottenham number 10 a ‘game-changer’ and someone who can create something out of absolutely nothing.

Frank said in his press conference, as broadcast on Beanyman Sports: “I’m pretty sure he (Postecoglou) will say that he (Maddison) is a key player for them if he hasn’t already said it.

“I think they are a different team with and without Maddison. I think he’s been a game-changer for them this season. They have a lot of other good players, Spurs, so it’s not that they can’t replace him, but the dynamic in the team, they just change.

“He is the one that can do something out of nothing with a pass, shot, cross, action. So, that’s a key player they got back. Perfect timing for us (smiles), but we need to find a way to close him down.”

Maddison’s return is a huge boost for Tottenham

After a sensational start to his Tottenham career, James Maddison suffered an ankle injury in November that kept him out of the side for over two months.

Spurs did as well as they could without him, but the void he left in the middle of the park was evident for everyone to see.

Maddison, whose only appearance this year was the 17-minute cameo against Manchester City last weekend, is back now and we’re sure he’s raring to go.

If he has a good game against the Bees tomorrow, Spurs should be able to pick up all three points without too much trouble.
