Gallas comments on Rodon, says Tottenham will win league if three remain fit

William Gallas has delivered his verdict on Instagram after former sides Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea drew 0-0 on Sunday – discussing Joe Rodon’s debut, and what it will take for Spurs to win the Premier League title.

Spurs returned to the top of the Premier League after keeping a clean sheet – even in the absence of Toby Alderweireld. They are level on points with Liverpool, but remain in first under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

Rodon was excellent, though he did make a couple of mistakes during the clash – but will be forgiven considering it was his debut for the club. Certainly, his header should have seen Olivier Giroud chip France teammate Hugo Lloris.

Gallas commented on Rodon’s debut, and made a title prediction. The ex-Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal star thinks Spurs will win the Premier League if three crucial players remain fit – Harry Kane, Lloris and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

TBR’s view – Can Spurs really win the Premier League?

It is interesting that Gallas has picked Kane, Hojbjerg and Lloris as the three most-important players. Tanguy Ndombele has been excellent in the 10 role, Eric Dier has reinvented himself and Son Heung-min is on fire.

But he is right. Kane is clearly the club’s best player. The difference between the likes of Ndombele, Dier and Son is that if they get injured, Spurs do have cover in the likes of Dele Alli, Rodon or Davinson Sanchez and Gareth Bale.

With Lloris, Spurs have Joe Hart as back-up and that is a big difference. Kane cannot be replaced, and summer signing Hojbjerg has been immense – a role that Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko have struggled to do.
