According to the official website of Swedish club GAIS Goteborg, Nuha Jatta will train with Leeds United this week.

Leeds approached GAIS to ask if talented wonderkid Jatta would be available to join on a trial basis. It is currently the off-season as the Swedish leagues finished last month.

GAIS accepted the offer and will allow Jatta to join up with Leeds this week. Jatta has taken up the invitation and will now join Leeds’ U23 team from today. He will train until December 22nd.

Jatta plays in central midfield and he has caught the eye by already making his first-team debut. The 16-year-old has played four times for GAIS, who play in the Superettan (Sweden’s second-tier).

GAIS finished 12th last season but were able to give Jatta his first taste of senior football. The Sweden U17 starlet will now try to impress Leeds and win a contract at Elland Road. Carlos Corberan will be running the rule over him alongside his coaching staff.

TBR’s view

It is tough to judge whether a player is good enough to make the move from Sweden to England. Leeds have had mixed success with this transfer market.

But Jatta is already playing for the first-team at the age of 16 – indicating that he does have some special talent. Leeds can test him against their U23s before deciding what level he is at.
