Arsenal continued their winning start to the Premier League season yesterday as they secured a late win against Fulham at The Emirates.

Aleksandar Mitrovic had threatened to spoil Arsenal’s perfect start to the season but Martin Odegaard’s deflected effort followed by Gabriel’s scrambled winner ensured it was another three points on the board for the Gunners.

Of course, the game wasn’t without its frustrations for Arsenal and their supporters. There were times when it didn’t look like the winner was going to come and that frustration boiled over into some players as well. One of those frustrated figures was young forward Gabi Martinelli, who in the 80th minute gave fellow forward Eddie Nketiah a piece of his mind.

With Nketiah surging forward and Martinelli making a run into acres of space, Nketiah decided to keep hold of the ball instead of passing and to the eagle-eyed viewer, Martinelli could be spotted absolutely screaming at the Englishman for not releasing the ball.

Certainly, Martinelli had more than one moment of annoyance in the 90 minutes. The Arsenal forward was seemingly desperate to get on the scoresheet and went close more than once before the Gunners won it. He is clearly growing in confidence and his mini rant at Nketiah here showed that.

TBR’s View: Martinelli One Of Arsenal’s Main Men

It’s clear that Gabi Martinelli is transitioning from bit part player at Arsenal to main man. His performances this season have been exceptional and he was unlucky not to get another goal yesterday.

On another day, Martinelli gets that goal and there is more to come from the young Brazilian this season you feel.

Of course, Nketiah did have a good game himself so it’s not like he had a nightmare as such, but he’ll have definitely heard Martinelli in his ear hole on this occasion.
