Gabriel Martinelli has now shared what he finds “complicated” about life at Arsenal.
The Brazilian made the comments when speaking to TNT Sports.
So, what does Gabriel Martinelli find to be confusing at Arsenal? Let’s take a look…
Gabriel Martinelli shares what is “complicated” at Arsenal
Well, the South American admitted it can often get a bit confusing having three players by the name of Gabriel at Arsenal, with Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Jesus also in north London.
Martinelli said: “Ah, it’s complicated sometimes. In training it’s easier, but in the game it’s sometimes complicated, because Gabi Jesus plays up front with me, but Magalhaes also plays on my side of the pitch, on the left.
“So sometimes he (Arteta) says close up. I don’t know if it’s me or Gabi, so if he says close up, we both close up. Sometimes it gets confusing, but most of the time we get it right. Sometimes he says Jesus, but I think most of the time everyone in the club says Gabi. Only Magalhaes they say Big Gabi.”

That must be very confusing for Martinelli, and it somewhat baffles us that Arteta hasn’t already given each Brazilian a distinctive nickname to differentiate between the trio.
Nevertheless, Arsenal are flying in 2024 with seven consecutive Premier League wins, so communication can’t be that big of a problem for the South American trio.
Brazilian connection is surely more helpful than a hinderance
In our view, each Gabriel must love having their fellow countrymen at the Emirates Stadium – it surely helps tremendously in regards to chemistry.

In the same interview, Martinelli also spoke about how David Luiz and another South American in Emiliano Martinez helped him settle at Arsenal.
South American footballers appear to take very good care of each other, so despite the confusion at Arsenal, Martinelli surely loves having Magalhaes and Jesus alongside him.
