Antony has been linked with a switch to Arsenal this summer and is close friends with Gunners forward Gabriel Martinelli.
Martinelli was the guest on Arsenal legend Ian Wright’s ‘Wrighty’s House’ podcast this week and offered some interesting insights.
He was asked which players at different clubs he is close friends with and one of the first names out of his mouth was the Ajax wideman.
Arsenal have been linked with a swoop for the Brazilian this summer, and seemingly remain in the market for a wide forward.

Martinelli friends with Arsenal target Antony
The Gunners extensively chased another Brazilian who plays on the right and cuts inside on his left foot this summer, in the shape of Raphinha.
They did not get him, as he went to Barcelona, but that shows the profile of wide forward Mikel Arteta is keen to add to his squad.
That is despite having Bukayo Saka in that position right now, who comes in on his left too, and was the club’s player of the year last season.

Manchester United have also been sniffing around and their new manager Erik ten Hag knows the Brazilian extremely well from his time with the Eredivisie giants.
He has previously labelled him an ‘incredible‘ player, which underlines exactly how good Antony could be in the Premier League.
Martinelli on one wing with his good friend Antony on the other would be a tantalising prospect, but it might be too expensive for Arsenal to do this summer.
