Gabriel Martinelli might only have the five goals for Arsenal this season, but he was on fire in training this week ahead of the weekend clash with Manchester United.
The Brazilian youngster has been one of a number of shining lights in a young Arsenal squad this season. He’s stepped up to the plate with the more experienced Arsenal strikers not producing, and seemed to relish the opportunity given to him when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left.

Martinelli came off the bench at Chelsea in midweek to good effect. And while he might have to make do with a similar role this weekend because of Smith Rowe and Nketiah’s impressive performances, the Brazilian looks to be doing all he can in training to impress.
In a short clip posted on Arsenal’s official Twitter account, Martinelli can be seen firing in four consecutive goals with finishes of a different nature each time. Certainly, it’s an impressive display of putting the ball in the back of the net.
Martinelli’s versatility in being able to play wide and down the middle has ensured he has a big role to play under Mikel Arteta now and in the future.
TBR’s View: Martinelli A Big Player For Arsenal For Years To Come
Little clips like this are always nice to take in and this one in particular shows just how good Gabi Martinelli can be in front of goal. Yes, it is just a training drill. But all the boxes that a striker can tick are on display here.
Cedric Soares has compared his ‘fantastic’ teammate to Cristiano Ronaldo this season and with finishing on display like this, you can see why.
Martinelli has a huge role to play for Arsenal between now and May. And into the future, the South American will be a huge player for the Gunners.
