Gabriel Martinelli has told the club’s official website that he believes new Arsenal duo Willian and Gabriel can have a positive impact at The Emirates, both on and off the pitch – claiming his fellow countryman are creating an enjoyable environment.
Martinelli, 19, has failed to play for Arsenal since suffering a long-term knee injury – following an FA Cup win over Portsmouth. He is hoping to return to action by the end of the year, and continue his excellent start to life in north London.
When he does recover, he will find that Arsenal have increased their Brazilian contingent with the summer additions of Gabriel and Willian – along with Thomas Partey and Alex Runarsson. Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have seen loans become permanent.
Martinelli was asked about the new Brazilians at Arsenal, and the Gunners teenager stated that he believes both Willian and Gabriel can have an impact both on and off the pitch over the course of the 2020-21 campaign.
“It is great to meet Willian and Gabi,” Martinelli said. “I only just met them but they are great guys, we are always laughing and it is a great environment to be in. They are playing well and giving their best too. They have a lot to offer to on and off the pitch.”

TBR’s view – Arteta improving morale as well as performances
Under Unai Emery, the discontent was utterly clear. But since the arrival of Arteta, the Arsenal players seem happier and more keen to play at the club – so much so that the Gunners convinced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to remain, and sign a new deal.
Willian’s experience and Gabriel’s talent will only add to that. Both deals were excellent for the club and considered major coups, which will only heighten the confidence of the team. Arteta is working wonders on and off the pitch.
