Emile Smith Rowe posted a message on Instagram last night expressing his delight at Arsenal’s 1-0 win over London rivals Chelsea.

The Gunners kept themselves in with a fighting chance of qualifying for Europe next season with a rare victory at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

Smith Rowe, 20, scored from close range in the first half to earn the north London club three points.

The English playmaker has now scored in back-to-back league games, and is certainly one of the rare success stories in a disappointing campaign for Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, three league wins in a row means they still have something to play for in their final two matches.

Smith Rowe sent a message on social media after the win, which prompted responses from both Gabriel Martinelli and Mat Ryan praising him for his individual display.

TBR’s View:

It wasn’t a vintage performance from Arsenal where they played dazzling football, but it was great for their fans to see a more disciplined defensive effort against a Chelsea team that are in the Champions League and FA Cup final.

Smith Rowe popped up with the crucial goal, as well as showing some really bright moments in possession where he was brave trying to get the visitors up the pitch.

It’s been an excellent breakout season for the London-born ace where he’s become a key player for the Gunners, and there should be a lot more to come from him next year at the Emirates Stadium.
