Gabriel Magalhaes spotted screaming at Arsenal teammate after bizarre 21st minute moment vs Porto

Gabriel Magalhaes could be seen screaming at William Saliba earlier tonight as Arsenal clashed with Porto in the UEFA Champions League.

The Brazilian let his anger out following a bizarre 21st minute moment inside the Estádio do Dragão.

So, why did Gabriel Magalhaes shout at Arsenal teammate William Saliba? Let’s take a look…

Why Gabriel Magalhaes shouted at William Saliba

Well, the France international strangely stood and watched the ball bounce right in front of him in the 21st minute – in the middle of Arsenal’s box – which allowed Galeno to nip in.

It looked for all the world like the Porto No.13 would score, but he somehow struck the post before also putting the rebound wide – in what was a truly baffling moment.

Despite Saliba ultimately getting away with his mistake, Gabriel was keen to let the Arsenal No.2 know what he should have done better, and the Brazil international was certainly entitled to do that.

It was a strange decision from the £27m Frenchman to let the ball bounce – and it almost cost Arsenal dearly.

In truth, both Saliba and Gabriel could have handled the opening 45 minutes better – there was a lack of conviction from both in their defensive actions, with Porto unfortunate not to take the lead.

Declan Rice booking may have affected Arsenal

There was certainly a bit of softness about Arsenal in the opening 45 minutes against Porto – and it may have partly been down to the fact Declan Rice picked up a yellow card so early on.

The England international – who acts as a protective screen in front of the backline under Mikel Arteta – was booked in just the second minute, so that may have led to a bit of hesitance when it came to tackling opponents ahead of Gabriel and Saliba.

Whatever the reason for Arsenal’s uncharacteristically open first half, Saliba undoubtedly got away with one after Galeno’s bizarre double miss, although the Gunners were made to pay by a stunning 93rd minute winner from the South American.
