Arsenal feel they’re going to beat Chelsea to the signing of Gabriel Jesus this summer, and one of the key reasons is Jesus’ belief that Thomas Tuchel actually wants Raheem Sterling.
The Gunners are closing in on signing Jesus, if reports in the last few days are to be believed. A deal is said to be all but done, with Arsenal simply working on the structure of the payment they’ll make to Manchester City.
Jesus is thought to be keen on working with Mikel Arteta once again. And according to Sky Sports, Jesus and his agents are also convinced that Chelsea boss Tuchel would prefer to sign his City teammate, Raheem Sterling, instead.

Sky Sports reports how the Brazilian feels Sterling is top of the list when it comes to Chelsea and Tuchel. Coincidentally, Sterling is also a player that Arsenal are said to hold an interest in as well.
Of course, Arsenal will welcome Jesus’ outlook here. It plays into their hands if he feels he’s not really wanted at Stamford Bridge and will simply enhance their chances of tying a deal up here. The Brazilian forward is seeking a move to be the main man up top. City’s capture of Erling Haaland has pushed him down the pecking order somewhat.
