Gabriel Jesus says 26-year-old Arsenal teammate is just so good in training

Gabriel Jesus has been speaking to the media ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash between Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

The Gunners welcome the Bavarians to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night as Mikel Arteta aims to do what Arsene Wenger could not – overcome the German giants in a European knockout game.

Arsenal memorably suffered a heavy defeat to Bayern Munich in the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League, losing 10-2 on aggregate at the Round of 16 stage.

Arsenal also lost 5-1 to Bayern Munich in Group F back in the 2014/15 campaign.

However, the Gunners are now a stronger side compared to those days, and ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash, Gabriel Jesus has spoken very highly about one teammate who has played a key role in Arsenal‘s recent rise…

Gabriel Jesus hails Arsenal teammate

Well, the Brazilian singled his namesake and fellow countryman Gabriel Magalhaes out for praise ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

Specifically, Jesus spoke about the 26-year-old’s efforts in training at London Colney.

It is safe to say the Arsenal No.9 has been left blown away by what Gabriel does in these sessions.

Speaking in UEFA’s pre-match press conference, Jesus was quoted by Hayters TV as saying: “Gabi, if you see the way he works, you’ll be impressed.”

Many people – even those outside of Arsenal – have already expressed their admiration for the Arsenal No.6 this season.

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards said he has been “really impressed” by Gabriel this term, while both Gary Neville and Alan Shearer were left amazed by how well the South American performed at the Etihad Stadium in the recent 0-0 draw against Manchester City.

Gabriel Magalhaes could win Player of the Season

Forget Arsenal’s own Player of the Season award – Gabriel could easily win the PFA Player of the Year crown at this rate.

Title charges are built on a solid defence, and while that comes as part of a cohesive unit, there is usually a focal point who organises it all, something Gabriel appears to be exceptional at doing.

Arsenal have conceded just four Premier League goals in 2024 so far across 11 games. Even one of those was a mere consolation as Newcastle scored whilst 4-0 down.

That is absolutely remarkable, and if Arsenal do end up winning the Premier League this season, Gabriel would be our Player of the Season.
