Gabriel Jesus reacts in one word to Martinelli’s display in Arsenal win

Gabriel Jesus has taken to Instagram to label Gabriel Martinelli a machine after the Arsenal star’s performance in Saturday’s superb North London derby win.

The Gunners have further cemented themselves as genuine title contenders in the Premier League this year. Mikel Arteta’s men blew Tottenham away and won 3-1 at the Emirates.

Spurs had a period on top just before the half-time whistle. However, there is absolutely no question that the Gunners were dominant for most of the contest. And they deserved their win.

Gabriel Martinelli a machine

There were stunning performances all over the pitch. And Martinelli was one of those who really shone. His energy was a problem for Tottenham throughout.

He grabbed one assist. And no player completed more dribbles than the Brazilian, according to Whoscored. In fact, he managed double the amount of the next most prolific player on the pitch.

And of course, it was Martinelli who was on the receiving end of the nasty challenge that resulted in Emerson Royal being sent off.

Martinelli has been superb at the start of this campaign. And after he took to Instagram following the win, he was praised by many, including Jesus…

Martinelli has a huge role to play in the weeks ahead. Arsenal were dealt the major blow of losing Emile Smith Rowe until after the World Cup.

Before the season, there was a debate surrounding whether Martinelli or Smith Rowe would be first-choice in that role.

Martinelli has grasped the opportunity with both hands. And that will make Smith Rowe’s injury setback slightly easier for Arsenal to cope with.

It is remarkable to think that the forward is still only 21. Of course, it is still the early stages of the season. But Martinelli is absolutely thriving in what appears to be a special group of players.
