Gabriel Jesus lauds Xhaka in reaction to his performance in Arsenal win
Gabriel Jesus and Cedric Soares have lauded Granit Xhaka on Instagram in reaction to the midfielder’s performance as Arsenal beat Leicester City at the Emirates on Saturday.
The Gunners have made it two wins from two at the start of the new Premier League campaign. And they, once again, played some outstanding football as they beat the Foxes in North London.
Jesus scored twice to open his account for his new club. Meanwhile, he also provided two assists, with his second setting up Gabriel Martinelli for Arsenal’s fourth.
The first was turned in by Xhaka. And many will suggest that it was a goal that he thoroughly deserved. The Swiss was colossal against Leicester.
Defensively, he was excellent. But he was also brilliant on the ball, making some superb passes. He also provided the assist for Jesus’ first goal of the afternoon.
And while Xhaka was keen to laud Jesus on Instagram, many of his teammates – including the striker – were quick to praise the former Arsenal captain as he continues to prove his doubters wrong…

Obviously, Xhaka’s time at Arsenal has not been easy. There have been plenty of occasions where he has seemingly made his final mistake. And he has been written off numerous times.
But actually, for much of Arteta’s tenure, he has been superb. Arsenal being in a better place has probably allowed the 29-year-old to really shine at long last.
Some Arsenal fans may always be reluctant to fully trust Xhaka. And Arsenal will be wary of getting carried away at this stage of the season.
But the signs are incredibly positive across the pitch. And Xhaka is one of those who looks ready to step up this season.
