Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted that he was wowed by Patrick Bamford’s goal in the last Leeds United game.
The 27-year-old scored a stunning left-footed finish into the top corner during the weekend’s 3-1 victory away to Leicester City in the Premier League.
Despite pre-season worries from many about Bamford, the English centre-forward has proven himself in the top-flight this campaign with some brilliant performance.
The £10million (BBC) man has now scored 11 goals and supplied five assists in his 20 league appearances.
His goal against Leicester was rifled with real power into the top corner, which ended a mini four-game goal drought.
Pundit and ex-Aston Villa forward Agbonlahor has given huge praise on the Leeds striker, stating that there are not many players in the Premier League that could replicate his finish against Leicester.
“You know that if you’re in and around that six-yard box, your going to get all sorts of chances every game, and that’s why Bamford is scoring as many goals as he is because he’s a natural finisher, and he’s getting the chances in there,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“To get the goals he’s got I bet he didn’t dream of that before the season started, but he’s a finisher. His goal against Leicester, I mean it’s a great goal. There are not many players in the Premier League that could score that sort of goal.
“For me, he’s going to continue scoring goals and if Leeds don’t change their tactics, and keep playing attacking football, he could get close to 20 goals this season in the Premier League.”

TBR’s View:
There must have been concerns in the summer for Bamford when Leeds signed Spain international Rodrigo Moreno to bolster the attacking options, especially as consistently during his time in the Championship he came in for criticism over his finishing.
But manager Marcelo Bielsa has stuck with the number nine to be his frontman and the decision has paid off.
He influences games even when he’s not scoring with work-rate and movement, while on the flip side of that his instinctive finish against Leicester shows the kind of confidence he’s in.
