Gabby Agbonlahor took to Twitter yesterday and claimed that Harry Maguire and Tyrone Mings are both better defenders than Arsenal star Ben White.
Gareth Southgate announced his England squad this week and White, despite having a fantastic season, was ignored. Maguire, on the other hand, was called up even though he has been horrendous for Manchester United since the start of the campaign.
That has caused an uproar on social media.

Gabby Agbonlahor: Harry Maguire and Tyrone Mings are both better than Ben White
Arsenal fans are absolutely furious with Southgate’s decision to snub White and pick Maguire instead.
The Manchester United skipper has started three games under Erik Ten Hag this season and has lost all of them, conceding seven goals in the process.
He has had a shocking campaign, and Arsenal fans, and most people in general, just cannot believe that he has been preferred to White, who has been incredible for the Gunners this term.
Agbonlahor, who is apparently away on holiday right now, took to Twitter and claimed that White is inferior to both Maguire and Aston Villa star Mings.
Fellow pundit O’Hara couldn’t believe what he was reading and asked Agbonlahor to put his drink down, suggesting that it was the alcohol talking.
TBR View:
Football is divided by opinions and everyone is entitled to theirs, but Agbonlahor is wide off the mark here.
White has been sensational for Arsenal since the start of this season. He has been one of the Gunners’ best players – even though he is being used in an unnatural right-back position.
Comparing the £50 million man’s performances to that of Maguire, who can barely get a game these days, is just silly, and Agbonlahor was probably just trying to annoy all the Arsenal fans on Twitter.
As for Southgate’s decision, White has every right to be disappointed. However, there’s not a lot he can do now apart from putting his head down and working hard.
Mikel Arteta’s side take on Brentford at lunchtime tomorrow, and White is expected to start again at right-back.
