Watford fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic revealed that Will Hughes is closing in on a move to Crystal Palace.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems as if Watford’s No.19 is off.
Hughes has rejected Watford’s offer of a £60,000-a-week contract in search of a new challenge, with his current deal expiring in June 2022.
Xisco has made him train with the Under-23 side amid the contract stand-off, and the 26-year-old hasn’t made an appearance yet this season.
Now, Hughes looks set to become Patrick Vieira’s sixth signing after a £6m fee was agreed with the Hornets.
The ex-Derby man will now discuss personal terms and have a medical in south London, ahead of the move which could reach £10m in add-ons.
Will Hughes reaction bodes well for Crystal Palace

You can tell a lot about a player judging by how a fanbase reacts to their departure.
In this case, Hughes must be an excellent midfielder, as the Watford fans seem absolutely devastated he’s leaving.
The Englishman captained Watford at times last season as they won promotion to the Premier League, making 30 Championship appearances.

He’s a big player for Watford, and you can certainly understand why they’d be sad to see him go – especially to another Premier League club.
Additionally, there is a bit of Wilfried Zaha-provoked dislike towards Crystal Palace from some Watford fans, so that will only add to their pain.
For now, let’s see what the Watford supporters on Twitter have been saying about Hughes joining the Eagles…
