‘Full of running’… Pundit says £40m Newcastle player didn’t look at all tired vs AC Milan

Newcastle were beaten by AC Milan on Wednesday evening.

The Magpies were eliminated from the Champions League against Milan, but, to be honest, it’s hard to blame the players on the pitch for this performance.

Newcastle came into this game with a glut of injuries and fitness issues and with so many of their players having to play so many consecutive games, many of Newcastle’s stars looked exhausted on the day.

However, while many of the players looked tired, there was one player who didn’t seem to stop against Milan.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Keith Treacy has reserved some special praise for Joelinton, claiming that the Brazilian was full of running against Milan regardless of how intense the game was and the fixture congestion as of late.

Joelinton didn’t stop

Treacy gave his verdict on the £40m man.

“Within the game you have to be realistic. With 20 minutes or half an hour to go, I was thinking where was the outlet going to be? I know Almiron was still on the pitch, and Joelinton to be fair to him still looked full of running,” Treacy said.

Incredibly fit

These last few games have only underlined just how fit Joelinton really is.

While many of Newcastle’s players have looked out on their feet in recent games, Joelinton hasn’t let his standards drop for a single moment.

The Brazilian trains as hard as anyone else in football, and the way he looks after his body makes him such a brilliant midfield player for Eddie Howe’s team.

Unfortunately, not everyone can be as fit as Joelinton, and Newcastle have seriously suffered as of late with these fitness issues, but at least the Brazilian has been a shining beacon of hope in what has been a tough run of form for the Tyneside club.

Joelinton will undoubtedly play a key role against Fulham this weekend as well.
