‘Full of confidence’, ‘on fire’: Some West Brom fans blown away as ‘baller’ shines for U23s

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have waxed lyrical about Hawthorns prospect Owen Windsor after his latest impressive display for the Baggies Under-23s.

The teenage forward followed up his two late penalties last week against Aston Villa’s U23s with a goal in a 3-3 thriller away at Crystal Palace.

West Brom were up against a strong Eagles side taking part in their first competitive match as a Category 1 Academy, a team which included veterans Martin Kelly and Christian Benteke.

Despite tough opposition, the Baggies opened the scoring through Finley Thorndike, with Windsor involved in the build-up.

The youngster slipped Tyrese Dyce in down the wing, who in turn delivered a low cross which Thorndike turned in from close range.

Though Palace equalised before half time through Scott Banks, Windsor then got West Brom level again after being put through by Tom Solanke.

Banks levelled once again through Banks before Kian Flanagan put his side ahead for the first time, only for Solanke to rifled home an effort inside the box to seal a point for the Baggies.

West Brom’s U23s have scored three goals for the second game in a row, while Windsor now has four goals in his last three, prompting a lot of praise from Baggies fans on social media.
