Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur academy duo Sam Amo-Ameyaw and Jayden Meghoma are about to join Southampton’s setup.

In June, Tottenham insider Lilywhite Rose tweeted that Amo-Ameyaw had turned down a Spurs scholarship proposal.

Meanwhile, CaughtOffside reported last month that Meghoma was closing in on a switch to Manchester United.

Now, Romano has taken to Twitter to report that both players are set to join Southampton.

“Full agreement in place for €1m (around £852,000) total fee,” added the transfer insider.

Amo-Ameyaw, 16, featured for Tottenham’s Under-18s last season, playing in the U18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup.

The attacking talent has also won nine caps for England’s Under-16s.

Meghoma, also 16, plays at left-back, and has also been playing for Spurs U18s and England U16s.

Tottenham’s U18s finished ninth in the U18 Premier League South last term, while Southampton clinched the regional title.

The Saints then took the lead against Manchester City’s U18s in the final, but the visitors won 2-1 to win the U18 Premier League National title.
