Fulham are reportedly consider a swoop for Leicester City defender Danny Simpson in January.
According to the Daily Mail, Claudio Ranieri is plotting a reunion with the Foxes right-back after the pair won the Premier League together at the King Power Stadium.
It is understood that Ranieri wants to solve the defensive problems at Craven Cottage and is casting his eye over Simpson.
The 31-year-old is out of contract with Leicester at the end of the season and they are weighing up whether to hand him a new deal or sell in the New Year.
The report details that Newcastle United and some Championship clubs are also monitoring the full-back.
Fulham certainly need reinforcements into their backline and Leicester’s defender could be a perfect addition to help them fight relegation.

Simpson would provide a more experienced and solid option at right-back than Denis Odoi and Cyrus Christie in Raneiri’s team for the second half of the season.
The English ace has proven in recent years he can defend well at the top level and showed no signs of rustiness in a recent Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City.
It would seem ideal for Ranieri to have a defender he can trust to help fix their main Achilles heel, as Fulham have conceded 42 gaols in 17 league games.
Simpson has experienced both sides of winning a title and fighting relegation in his career, which is why he’d be a shrewd addition in January if Leicester decide to move him on.
The £45,000-a-week ace (Spotrac) should still have a couple more years at a top level and his determination is what Fulham will need if they remain near the bottom of the table.
