‘I am waiting’: Manager set for crunch meeting with player, after claims Liverpool want to sign him

Liverpool have been handed a potential boost in the race to sign Fulham forward, Fabio Carvalho, after Cottagers boss Marco Silva admitted the youngster could move on.

The Reds have been credited with an interest in Carvalho. As reported on TBR last weekend, Fabrizio Romano had named Liverpool as one of the clubs scouting the teenager. Carvalho, 19, has score four goals in 13 this season and enhanced his reputation with a string of fine performances.

And according to Fulham coach Silva, things remain very much up in the air when it comes to Carvalho’s future.

“I know his agent will have been talking to some other big clubs. But we are expecting something from Fabio and his agent – they know what they said to us,” Silva told West London Sport.

“For me as a manager, our board are trying to take control of the situation, but I am waiting for Fabio to come and speak with me because his agent will speak to the club.”

Carvalho is out of contract in the summer. As WLS report, the youngster is yet to accept any of the new proposals put forward to him by Fulham. Liverpool, then, could well sniff blood and make their move.

TBR’s View: Harvey Elliott 2.0 For Liverpool And Fulham With Fabio Carvalho

This will be hugely frustrating for Fulham and Silva. They’ve got one of the best youngsters in the Championship on their hands and he’s already looking at going. And in a further blow, he’s off for nothing.

Silva’s frustration here is clear as well. But from the player’s perspective, you can’t exactly blame him if clubs like Liverpool and more are keen. Those opportunities are rare, and Fulham have been dipping of late as well.

Should Liverpool land Carvalho, it will be like Harvey Elliott 2.0 for the Cottagers. The Reds, meanwhile, will simply lap it up if they do land the teenager.
